Welcome to the Pattern and Book Section of my Online Catalog! My earliest Southwestern patterns were published in 1988, and introduced at International Quilt Market in 1989. Today, I have a wide range of patterns which include bold, geometric star designs, applique patterns, samplers, and several jackets. This section of my Online Catalog features my book, "Sensational Stars", and a sampling of my favorite designs.

Southwest Critters
Southwest Critters
Based on tradtional Native American pottery designs, these five fanciful creatures represent important animals in the Southwest; a fish, quail, turtle lizard and billy goat. Each is appliqued by hand or machine, and positioned in a pieced background. These critter patterns can be mixed or matched with designs from my popular "Indian Baskets" quilt. Pattern, $8.00.

This double-breasted, fingertip length jacket is a fitted blazer type jacket embellished with paper pieced flying geese, threadwork, beading, and silk ribbon embroidery. Choose your own favorite design features! Pattern, $8.00.

This slimming style is closer fitting around the hips with full circle swirl below. Complete this skirt in just an evening. Pattern includes two sizes: S/M which fits hip sizes up to 44", and L/XL which fits hip sizes up to 50". Team this skirt with either Gail's new Dreamweaver Jacket, Milagro Jacket, or Wrap-it Jacket. Four Star Quilts

Four Star Quilts
These four dazzling, round star quilts are our newest in a series of complex-looking but easy-to-piece patterns. This mix and match medley includes four different centers and several different circular borders -- mix them and match them to create your own favorite, one-of-a-kind wallhanging. The pattern also has an optional border which turns your circular quilt into a square. Circular quilts finish 38"; square quilt finishes 48". Pattern, $9.00.

The Rainbird
A charming wall-hanging based on the pottery of the Mimbrenos Indians. It is said that the leading edge of the advancing thunderclouds bringing needed rain to a parched land resemle the beak of the Rainbird, depicted on this pot. Wall-hanging finishes 24" x 24". Pattern, $5.00.

 Storyteller Quilt

Storyteller
Stories are very important to the Pueblo Inidans. Often the Storytellers are grandparents, passing down oral tradition, history and language. Wall-hanging finishes 33" x 39". Pattern, $8.00.

Nativity
The Pueblo Indians are well-known for their distinctive pottery figurines. Indian artists began making Nativity sets (Nacimientos) in the 1960's using the native clays gathered from Mother Earth. The Nativity Gail designed is inspired by the figurative pottery of Helen Cordero, of Cochiti Pueblo, maker of the first Storyteller in 1964. Wall-hanging finishes 21" x 32". Pattern, $6.00.
